Build the retirement you wantPosted 02 Dec 2018 Vicki Wusche explains how her latest book can help you build the retirement you want
Have you made a plan? Do you know how you want your future to look? Have you even thought about what you might do with your time when you no longer work full-time for a wage? If you don’t plan for a life you want, you’ll get what you’re given.
Do you want to sit out your retirement in a state-run care home or do you want to use the next 20-40 years to pursue your passions, travel and have fun with the people who matter to you?
Retirement needs redefining
We are living longer and retirement needs redefining. Unlike our grandparents, who collected their pension for a few years before passing away, we have got decades worth of having fun to plan for. No one can predict exactly what our futures look like and that means we can create any sort of older age we want.
The mistake most people make is thinking that their pension (state or private) and the NHS will somehow provide them with everything they need when they retire. The fact is, the government is not sufficiently prepared for an increasing and aging population, combined with the fact that the last financial crisis saw many pension pots wiped out. So you need to act now.
It’s time for you to take back financial control and create a strategy that will result in the type of nontraditional retirement you want. It’s never too early to start planning. Sadly, most people just don’t know how.
That’s why I am in the process of publishing my fifth book, called The Wealthy Retirement Plan: A revolutionary guide to living the rest of your life in style, which will be published in January 2019. The book explains the three stages that will enable you to take back control of your finances, so you can have more time to enjoy yourself.
Using the five principles for a wealthy retirement and tools I share in this book, you will be able to take your first steps towards building the retirement you want - whether that involves scuba diving in warm blue waters, setting up a business or charity, sharing your skills with younger people or helping your community, the book includes access to valuable resources to help you plan. The book will be published in January 2019 - make a note.
